Join Michal Avera Samuel at 7PM on Sunday, April 11 in the KSS Zoom Room to hear her story, which begins when she was only eight and her family set out on a dangerous journey from Gondar, Ethiopia to Israel. Michal’s eldest brother had been kidnapped by Mengistu’s army. This tragedy propelled Michal’s family, her parents and eight siblings, to embark on their dream of returning to Jerusalem. That included a six-week trek and a year in a refugee camp in Sudan.
Michal went on to earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Haifa and is here in Columbus to serve in the role of Schlicha as part of JewishColumbus’ Israel Emissary Program.

Michal will talk about her family’s journey to Israel and answer any questions you may have. Contact Debra or email info@SukkatShalomColumbus.org to request the link to the KSS Zoom Room. See you there.
