We strive to live up to our name,
to be a shelter of peace for all who find us.

We are a spiritually rooted, (mostly) lay-led, joyful, and inclusive community of individuals and families.

We strive to greet all who enter our Sukkat Shalom with warmth and respect,
celebrating the diverse life experiences and backgrounds that make us unique.

We encourage all members to contribute to the vibrancy of our kehilah
knowing our diversity makes us stronger.

We co-create encounters with Judaism that help us navigate our lives in the 21st century
through communal worship, educational programming, collective social and environmental action,
holiday celebrations, and by supporting one another through personal joys and struggles.

We use gender-neutral and alternative prayer language to find ways to connect to the Divine presence in the world.

We employ cooperative decision-making processes as we work to be a thriving and visible force for dynamic, progressive Judaism in central Ohio.

Kehilat Sukkat Shalom is affiliated with Reconstructing Judaism and ALEPH: The Alliance for Jewish Renewal.

We also draw inspiration from a wide range of innovative contemporary Jewish teachers and organizations. While this list is constantly evolving, click here to learn about some of our other influences.
